JOBURG – Operation Hunger, a non-profit organisation which aims to improve the nutritional levels of impoverished communities through sustainable food security schemes, received a financial boost thanks to a generous donation from Spar.
The organisation was thrilled to have Spar Food Group visit their offices and to be given two cheques to the value of R200 000. National administration manager of Operation Hunger, Minnie Okwirry said, “Whatever can be donated, we try our best to do so. We even go as far as helping paint and revamp premises of which we donate to. The biggest donor is the Spar Food Group which have been constant support over the years.”
The organisation recently moved to Lyndhurst and is looking to help any projects that need assistance. Okwirry said, “We are always willing to look into potential projects in and around the area to help with projects that need the support.”
